UHU - THE FAMOUS ADHESIVE BRAND

THE UHU BRAND

UHU COMPANY HISTORY

In 1905, the pharmacist August Fischer bought Ludwig Hoerth in Bühl, a small chemical factory founded in 1884 . Little did he know at the time that he would soon create an invention that would lead to his company becoming one of the most well-known adhesive manufacturers in the world.

In 1932, the crucial breakthrough came when August Fischer successfully developed the world's first ready-to-use, crystal-clear synthetic resin adhesive. It reliably bonded all materials known at the time, even the first plastics such as Bakelite. As was customary in the paper, office and stationery industry at the time, he chose the name of a bird (the eagle owl) for his new product: "UHU The all-purpose adhesive®".

THE SUCCESS STORY

The adhesive in the black and yellow tube has become one of the best-known branded items of our time. More than 100 years after its founding, UHU can now look back on a corporate history that is defined by continuous progress in research and development as well as marketing. By developing innovative products and advanced bonding techniques,  the company now offers a complete range of adhesives for a wide range of materials which lead the way in quality and performance.
