TASK AND MOTIVATION
Angels do not just accompany us in advent time, but are guardian angels at our side during the whole year. With good wishes, a homemade guardian angel is a nice gift for friends and relatives.
LEARNING PRIORITIES
- Make a figurative object from different materials
- Recognise and use natural and recycled materials from valuable material

On the material
For the above guardian angel, scallop shells (wings, halo), birch branchs and branch discs (body, base) are used. Ask in restaurants for large quantities of empty shells.
It is worth asking foresters and landscape gardeners (parents!) for raw wood. Alternatively, one can use a cardboard tube for the body, a paper plate for the wings and halo as well as a screw cap as a base.

Step-by-step plan
Guardian Angel
Step 1
For the head, crumple a newspaper page into a ball and stuff into the sock. Bind tight below and then cut off the material shortly afterwards.
Step 2
Make the face: paint the mouth in gold or red with UHU Glitter Glue Original. For the eyes, stick googley eyes or cut felt circles in black and white with UHU All Purpose Adhesive Twist & Glue.
Step 3
Cut string as hair and fix on the head with the UHU Glue Gun Low Melt 110°C. Note for sticking with the glue gun: Always join parts immediately after applying the glue.
Step 4
Decorate three scallop shells as wings and the halo with UHU Glitter Glue Original in gold and allow to dry completely.
Step 5
Stick the birch branch with the glue gun, either on a branch disc or on a glass cover.
Step 6
Stick the head on the body with the glue gun as well as the shells for the wings and the halo.
Step 7
Label a small wooden disc with "Guardian Angel". Attach a string and hang the sign on the figure.
Step 1
Cut an open edge of the cardboard tube around in a triangle and bend the spikes inside.
Step 2
Cover the tubes with gold foil.
Step 3
For the head, crumple a newspaper page into a ball and stuff into the sock. Bind tight below and then cut off the material shortly afterwards.
Step 4
Paint the mouth in gold or red with UHU Glitter Glue Original. For the eyes, stick googley eyes or cut felt circles in black and white with UHU All Purpose Adhesive. Put the neck in the jagged opening of the tube.
Step 5
Cut wool as hair: Wrap around a book and then join sideways. Cut downwards.
Step 6
Mark the form of the halo on the paper plates (for example using the template in the appendix) and cut out. Coat with UHU Glitter Glue.
Step 7
Join all parts with UHU Glue Gun Low Melt 110°C. Stick the figure into the cover, so that it has a larger standing surface.
